So this only counts for actual news, right? The q fake news still gets to be there, right? That’s a lot to think about.

This will definitely not make me use TikTok. I can only imagine what kind of garbage people will post on text form. I’m obviously not the target demographic for that platform but I cannot comprehend what people enjoy about it. I had some old coworkers who used to send me tiktoks daily and they were annoying, insane, made no sense. Now put that in text format.
Africa is, like, huge. So saying Russia is small because it fits within Africa doesn’t make it sound small to me.
I’ve done this before! It serves no purpose for me but those little stickers are fun to collect!
It’s only really useful for aggregation of PSAs (in my opinion) and I don’t need to be on one of those sites since if it’s important enough someone will repost the tweet to a platform I use, or it will get reposted in a “news” article. In other news though, I also find it horribly annoying when I click on a news article to discover that it’s just screenshots of a bunch of tweets.
Thank you for the link. That makes me feel better.
I think I may be confused. I thought threads did federate. Was I mistaken?
Has there been a discussion about Beehaw defederating from Threads and if so could someone direct me there please? I desperately do not want to interact with Meta products, even accidentally. I read what the mastodon guy wrote about how in his opinion they can’t track you if you’re on another instance but that doesn’t jive with with the information meta has put out. It makes me really uncomfortable. I’ve heard enough horror stories about them (up to and including facilitating literal genocide…or ethnic killing if you’re trying to put a “positive” spin on it) and I want my social media to be free of that company.
And, of course, the girl lies about mushrooms because reasons and they have to break into her house to solve the case.
