I used to do car electronics installs for a living. The amount of firearms I’d find was staggering.
Many times where we needed to get to/behind the glovebox, or remove the center console (which usually requires pulling every item being stored in it before removal), and we’d just find the handgun sitting right there. Had one where the client dropped off their vehicle and the gun was laying right on the floorboard.
Not firearm related, but I had a little old lady come in one time, wanted to get a radio done. Went to remove her center console so we could install an aftermarket USB in the factory USB location (adapter didn’t work with carplay too well) and I found a rusted ice pick in the center console. She was definitely ready to make someone’s day worse.
The Maverick is (comparatively) a small modern pickup. It’s the whole reason I chose it. I always wanted a truck, but I absolutely detested how big and inefficient they were, so I never bothered. I had a Maverick come in for a remote start last year and got to look at it and I quite liked it, ended up ordering one of my own that same year.
They’re legal here, but only by having the toy removed.
Candies like them were made illegal here in the states decades ago because there was concern (or it actually did happen) that a kid would attempt to eat the candy with the toy still inside and choke.
It’s why the Wonder Balls stopped being sold here as well, and I loved those as a kid in the 90s. They were one of my favorite things to get when I went out shopping with my mom.
My favorite games as a child growing up in the 90s:
Zelda OoT
Super Mario 64
Pokemon Red
Zelda OoA/OoS
Though after later playing Final Fantasy 7 in 2003 that quickly captivated me and became really special to me. It was my first Final Fantasy I ever played and one of my most cherished games to this day.
Also, while I never played the original 90s game, I absolutely adored Black Mesa and the Half Life franchise. It was damn impressive what Valve accomplished with the original Half Life back then.
Not OP, but you tend to see these kinds of shenanigans from phones that are locked to carriers, the carriers are the ones who end up pushing the apps onto the phone during an update.
Sprint was pretty bad with their bloat ware back in the day, when I made the switch from my Sprint-locked S6 to my unlocked Pixel 1, I never had that problem again.
My mom and dad have unlocked S22’s and they don’t have these issues as far as I’m aware. I know if my dad did he would have complained about it.
I’m primarily a lurker. Back on Reddit I’d create posts here and there, but I’d mostly contribute to discussion fairly often. I only had around like 28k karma from comments over the course of 11 years, so I wasn’t super prolific by any means.
I miss how big the community was on Reddit at times. I’m still trying to figure Lemmy out. Trying to figure out how to make the instances work on the app can be frustrating, but I really hope to see Lemmy grow into a proper competitor and become more polished and robust. I like it so far, it shows promise.
Agreed, I also miss the feature of being able to extend a screenshot on a page.
But uBO is a necessity now to browse the Internet. The ads are so bad now.
