new users are confused about how to choose a home base.
Second most active instance. Good admins.
people not agreeing with gender issues
LW defederated about gender issues?
Please do, there are probably plenty of people interested
Aaah, I got confused!
Thank you for your work!
Jerry also operates fedia.io, which runs Mbin
There’s plenty of NSFW content on lemmysnfw.com, I can understand why someone would block NSFW instances for their project flagship instance
So then this presents a new oddity: apparently people can override a user block, simply by tagging the other person’s name?
The instance block and the user blocks work differently. The instance blocks affects the communities of the blocked instance, not the users of that instance.
I just checked with an alt where I have hexbear blocked, I can still see their comments. Not sure about their posts, they only created them on the hexbear communities.
Thank you not only for your large efforts to actually improve things where you are at, but also for making this place more worthwhile to visit!:-)
Happy to help!
@OpenStars@discuss.online, have you seen my comment above? I was curious as it seems you were missing how to link to communities on another instance
Which shows are you in? We had some episodes discussion on !showsandmovies@lemm.ee, but they never really took off. If you are interested in a show, you can maybe try posting there and see if other people want to discuss it with you?
Shout out to !bun_alert_system@lemmy.sdf.org and their bunnies
Have you tried posting about lore on !warhammer40k@lemmy.world ? It’s mostly minifig pictures, but they would probably welcome lore post as well
I enjoyed seeing that on the RiF (Reddit Is Fun) app
Interesting, I didn’t know it had this feature
I regularly start communities
I don’t listen to them, they are the ones who remove mentions to Lemmy on their sub. They already banned me in the the past for that, so this time I checked before hand
Great news!
Edit : sad to see the first comment being really negative
You can try on !xbox@lemmy.world or !retrogaming@lemmy.world
The “New comments” sort is quite useful.
I go back to months old thread from time to time due to a new comment
Just sharing a personal experience here: I reached out to my country subreddit mods yesterday to ask if I could create a post about Lemmy in the context of the latest Reddit decisions preventing strikes.
They told me they would not allow it as it was self promotion, and that I should stop mentioning Lemmy in comments where people complain about Reddit.
Very frustrating when you see how active communities like !ich_iel@feddit.org is, as the subreddit mods promoted Lemmy during the 2023 strike
Curious about this one, politics seems a very popular topic on Lemmy. Did you post to !politics@lemmy.world and others?
That’s a very common experience. We have regular threads on !fedigrow@lemm.ee, this is definitely a recurring issue. On the other hand, if you can find someone to post with you, it feels very good.
