Even though republicans have majority in Senate and House, that doesn’t mean the majority of either is in favor of banning abortion at the federal level, and the fact these states are passing laws in favor of abortion rights shows that many republican politicians either feel the same or are seeing that it’s politically advantageous to be in favor.

I do think power to the states is a slippery slope towards federal ban.

They’ve been campaigning on fear. The Democratic party is not going to save you. They never were. Their empty promises are carrots they dangle to get your votes. They haven’t tried hatred yet, but I think that’s reserved for the uneducated.

CA and NY make up about 21% of GDP and they contain about 18% of population. Other states are welcome to join. They’d be fine on their own and they’d have land on either coast.

People vote based on what they feel is right for them and their families. Even though it may seem like it, most of their votes aren’t based on hatred.

Talking about Supreme Court. They are not elected, they are appointed. For sure, lots of corruption in campaigning. You know what’s more corrupt? Campaigning for an audience of one. You may not call it campaigning because it happens behind closed doors but these judges don’t just get appointed based on their merit.

Everybody always says eugenics and can’t fathom an in between. That’s like saying socialism is a slippery slope to communism.

That’s what the founding fathers thought but they end up being biased to whomever gets them the seat. Additionally, if the country decides to become more progressive or conservative, judges either have to be flexible based on public opinion, or they need term limits to make room for change. It’s broken.

I love this. We shouldn’t be beholden to the president to select judges if and when they die or resign. Limit their terms and let people elect them. Take note US.
